Vermilion Parish School Board
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

ABBEVILLE, LA — We are pleased to inform you that the Vermilion Parish School Board will continue with the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program for the 2019-2020 school year at the following schools:  Dozier Elementary, Cecil Picard Elementary, Eaton Park Elementary, Forked Island/E. Broussard Elementary, Herod Elementary, Indian Bayou Elementary, Jesse Owens Elementary, Kaplan Elementary, Leblanc Elementary, Meaux Elementary, Seventh Ward Elementary,  Erath Middle School, J.H. Williams Middle School, North Vermilion Middle School, Rene Rost Middle School, Abbeville High School, Gueydan High School and Kaplan High School.

The CEP program is offered through the USDA, and is an authorized part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which established the recent changes in school meals across the nation.  All enrolled students of the school sites named above are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2018-2019 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in this meal program without having to pay a fee or submit a Meal Benefit Application.

Please note if a student transfers during the school year from a CEP school to a non-CEP school, the student will keep their status for ten (10) days only.  A meal benefits application will need to be completed for the current school year.  Parents or guardians are responsible for all meal payments until the approval of the application at the Child Nutrition Program Office.  Parents or guardians are still responsible for all previous meal charges incurred by the student prior to the implementation of the CEP program.  All collections procedures will apply as necessary.

If we can be of any further assistance, please contact the Child Nutrition Program Office at 337-898-5802 or
