It was a GREAT DAY to be a Louisiana RISING EDUCATOR!! Vermilion Parish Rising Educators at Erath High School, Abbeville High School and Kaplan High School participated in the UL Lafayette College of Education & Human Development / Educators Rising Collegiate future teacher signing ceremony today. Twelve graduating seniors from five Louisiana school districts publicly declared their intent to pursue careers in education while families, teachers, district personnel and community members cheered them on.
Seven incoming college freshmen, or half of today’s UL future teacher signees, were from Vermilion Parish School System. Students listened to guest speakers, participated in panel discussions and proudly signed letters of intent to major in Education this morning in the UL student union’s Bayou Bijou Theatre.
