GHS Faculty are Lifelong Learners

Every year teachers all over the country participate in Professional Learning Communities to grow their knowledge, skills, and professional practice.  The faculty and staff at Gueydan High School began their cycle of PLCs with a review of Louisiana's teacher evaluation criteria, the best practices of highly qualified educators, and a deep dive into academic data in order to set their Student Learning Targets for the 2022-2023 school year.  The teachers met as middle, high, and Career/Technical  teams to review the student performance scores from last year's assessments, set goals for growth for the new year, and work with their colleagues to make plans for improving instruction and assessment practices that ensure the students of GHS are prepared for success.  Teachers meet year-round in team PLCs, grade level groups, and district-wide content groups to collaborate, share, and learn together so that all students can become high academic achievers.
