Some of the best students and teachers in Louisiana are right here in our small town and we think they deserve some recognition, so every week, we hope to showcase a different middle school student, high school student, and staff member here at GHS and give them a chance to tell us a little bit about themselves - in their own words!
Our first Student Spotlight will be Shelly Robicheaux. Shelly is a Senior at GHS, and she is an active student, both in the classroom and with extracurricular activities, as well as in the Gueydan community. Let's meet Shelly!

I am part of the Beta Club, Leader in Me Lighthouse Member, Cheerleader, and Band
What do you love about being a Gueydan Bear?
We have the most supportive teachers that care about our feelings and if they see we are down in any way they ask to make sure we are okay.
What's your favorite class this year?
Band
Who's your favorite teacher you've ever had at GHS? What did you love about being in their class?
Mr. Brock has been my favorite teacher throughout all my years at GHS. He has helped me be the best flute player I can be and has always encouraged me and believed in me even when I couldn’t believe in myself.
What's your favorite school lunch (served in our beautiful new cafeteria)?
Pizza
What event(s) do you look forward to the most at school every year and why?
I look forward to the Homecoming game and powderpuff game!
If you could pick any 3 GHS students to go with you on a cross country road trip, who would they be and where would you go?
I would bring Gracie Guidry, Annalise Breaux, and Rylee Mouton because they are always so supportive and are the best hype women.
What's your best/favorite memory from your time as a Gueydan Bear so far?
When I got the Congratulations letter saying I was gonna be a GHS cheerleader.
If you could give one piece of advice to future Gueydan Bears, what would it be?
Be your own person and don’t let your peers influence who you want to be in the future.
Do you have any interests or hobbies outside of school?
I like to sing, write songs, and do pageants.
What are your goals for the future?
My goal is to be a cosmetologist and help people feel beautiful.
