Some of the best students and teachers in Louisiana are right here in Gueydan, and we think they deserve some recognition, so this is our chance to get to know them a little better. This is our Student Spotlight on GHS 11th Grader Brooke Vincent.

Are you a part of any clubs, activities, or sports here at GHS?
I'm in band, I'm a manager for high school football, boys and girls high school basketball, and also a high school softball.
What do you love about being a Gueydan Bear?
I love being a Gueydan Bear because it helps show my pride for my town.
What's your favorite class this year?
Band
Who's your favorite teacher you've ever had at GHS? What did you love about being in their class?
My favorite teacher is Coach Kern because he can brighten anyone's day just by telling them good morning.
What's your favorite school lunch (served in our beautiful new cafeteria)?
My favorite thing served is the teriyaki chicken.
What event(s) do you look forward to the most at school every year and why?
I'm looking forward to both homecoming and prom because most of my friends are seniors and are leaving this year so I only have these next two dances to have a memory with them.
If you could pick any 3 GHS students to go with you on a cross country road trip, who would they be and where would you go?
I would pick Brooklyn W, Jacie M, and Reanna C because Brooklyn would make everyone enjoy the ride, Jacie because she is really good with directions, and Reanna because she has a really good playlist. We would most likey go to either Galveston TX or Miami FL.
What's your best/favorite memory from your time as a Gueydan Bear so far?
My favorite so far was getting my Letterman jacket that I have worked so hard for.
If you could give one piece of advice to future Gueydan Bears, what would it be?
Be yourself, don't let others chose who you are, let loose make friends and most of all just do you.
Do you have any interests or hobbies outside of school?
Reading books about mythology, hanging out with friends, and working my way to visit Texas soon.
What are your goals for the future?
My goal is to become a Registered nurse, and move to somewhere in between here and a near-by state.
