What is your favorite part of your job?
I love teaching skills that I know for a fact they will use later in their life. (even if
they don’t believe they will at the time!)
How many years have you been working at Kaplan High?
18 Years!
What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?
Honestly, I am often so busy with school and speech team duties, I love to just
be home and take a good NAP!
What is something people would never guess about you?
I am a huge LSU Softball fan and attend as many games as I can when
Speech stuff allows.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
Initially, I wanted to be a teacher because I wanted to be a cheer coach. Cheer
was my favorite thing to do all through middle and high school.
But then it always goes back to the wonderful teachers I’ve had in the past. I’ve had some remarkable ones!
Did you graduate from Kaplan high school?
I did! Class of 95! Go Pirates!
What is your favorite TV show?
I love so many! My favorite thing I’ve watched recently would be Superman and Lois!!
What Grade levels and subjects do you teach?
9th-12th grade; Speech 1, Theatre 1, Speech 2 and 3 Competition Speech, and Edgenuity
If you had to pick another subject to teach, what would it be?
I’ve always wanted to teach a Dual Enrollment Communications class!
What is your dream vacation?
I’ve always wanted to go on a trip to one of those “hut over the water” places like in the Maldives!
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love to read. I love TV and Movies. I enjoy watching local theatre, and watching softball games.
What do you love about teaching at KHS?
Kaplan High is home. I love being able to teach and live in our community.
Are you involved in any extracurricular clubs or sports at KHS?
I am the coach and sponsor of our Speech and Drama team. I also direct two theatre productions (Our Mystery and Spring Musical.)
