Kallie Romero

We are pleased to announce that Kaplan High School student Kallie Romero has received the prestigious National Academic All American award from the National Speech and Debate Association! There are 141,000 student-members in the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) and fewer than 2% receive this honor. This award recognizes their performance in Speech and Debate as well as in the classroom.
Kallie joined the KHS speech team as a freshman in a total virtual setting. This is not the easiest way to participate in these activities, but she rose to the challenge and has been an active competitor for the past three years.
Kaplan High School Speech Coach Erika Trahan shares that over the last three years Kallie has been instrumental in growing the program. “Kallie’s leadership extends beyond helping students improve in these activities. She often pushes the whole team to be successful as a group. Her academic success (4.0) and leadership show why she has earned NSDA Academic All American. It is simply awesome to work with  amazing students such as Kallie. She has worked very hard to obtain this honor.”
Congratulations Kallie on earning this well deserved award—we are so proud of you!
